Not to miss: Application for waiver of property tax only possible until March 31, 2021
Due to current events, we would like to inform you that it is possible to reduce the property tax for 2020 retrospectively within the scope of a waiver application.
The following requirements must be met:
- You are the owner of a developed property
You rent out this property and your rental income (gross income) has fallen by more than 50% in 2020 due to Corona or for other reasons, but through no fault of your own.
Alternatively, you use this real estate for your own business and the gross profit has also collapsed due to corona or other reasons, but without your fault. Furthermore, the collection of the property tax must be “inequitable”. This is the case if the operating result is negative and the payment of the property tax from the assets or by borrowing would not be reasonable.
Important: Application with exclusion deadline March 31, 2021
The reduction of the property tax must be applied for (informally) at the responsible city or municipality. This application must be received there no later than March 31, 2021.
Please contact us if you have any questions or need assistance with the application process.
